Dance Mom's Tuesday

Guess what day it is!! DANCE MOM'S TUESDAY! For any of you who don't know, this is a television show that airs at 9:00 PM central on the Lifetime channel. It is one of the most addicting shows I watch. It really sounds quite stupid, but it's so dramatic it's awesome.

This show focuses on a dance studio in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania called Abby Lee Dance Company. Abby Lee is the owner (obviously) and she is also the dance teacher of the Abby Lee competition team. On this team, there are five main girls. Chloe, a 13 year old, is my favorite girl. She's very tall and elegant. Her rival Maddie (why are they rivals when they're on the same team? Who knows..) is 11. She is the favorite of the group and it is very evident, but she is very talented. She has gotten many opportunities, like dance in the Chandelier music video by Sia, that none of the other girls get. Her little sister is also a part of the team. Her name is Mackenzie and she is 9, which is the youngest on the team, and she is the most adorable thing you will ever see. When she dances it's so sassy and cute! This brings me to the last two girls, Kendall and Nia. Kendall is 11 and Nia is 13. Both of these girls are the forgotten underdogs, but they are both very good.

Now all would be well in their little dance world but their mothers are CRAZY! It seems that somewhere in every single episode, one or more of the moms complains or argues about something! Chloe's mom is Christi, and if you ask me she's the worst mom of all. She has gotten in countless arguments with Abby, but if you've seen the show, you'd understand why. Maddie and Mackenzie's mom, Melissa, is just the biggest suck up of maybe all time! She does anything to make Abby happy! Nia's mom, Holly, is actually really professional and hardly ever gets into any trouble at the studio. Finally, Kendall's mom Jill, may be the craziest person in the bunch! So if you couldn't tell by the title of the show, the moms are fairly important. It's really actually entertaining to watch all of the mom's argue and gossip. If my mom were that way I would probably disown her.

Each week at the studio, they start off the show by going through the pyramid. On this pyramid, Abby ranks the girls from worst to best and they talk about it in front of everyone. Sounds a little cruel doesn't it? Well as you can guess, Maddie is usually on the top of the pyramid. She features in almost all of the dances and gets solos a lot. Odds are usually stacked up against Chloe, Kendall, and Nia. Nia and Kendall don't ever get solos and Abby is just really mean to Chloe. She gives her dances that aren't very hard and sets Chloe up to fail. Either way I still think Chloe is a beautiful dancer! Mackenzie is usually in the middle of the bunch.

The show continues on with the girls learning their routines and of course the moms are gossiping and complaining. Eventually, they end up at the competition where their solos and group dances perform. Usually the girls do really well and can count on someone winning the solo division and the team places top three if not first every time. That's pretty much what all the episodes consist of!

I'm really excited because the season is nearing the end and the last episode is always the girls going to nationals. Tonight looks like an interesting show and I can't wait to watch it! Hopefully you will watch it too! To watch Maddie in the Chandelier music video click HERE! To watch some of the girls dances click HERE! See you soon!  (651 words)

If I Stay (Book)

Hello everyone! Today I will be talking about the book If I Stay by Gayle Forman. While I was reading this book, I couldn't put it down. It has a very entertaining story line and a very interesting point of view. The book was told in the point of view of seventeen year old Mia. Now I know that doesn't seem like a very interesting, but just wait. A very severe accident happened and Mia was in a coma. It's almost like she is a ghost, but she is still alive. Throughout the book, many flashbacks occur and she switches from her normal self to her ghostly presence.  (408 words)
